Things to Remember When Moving House

Moving into a new house can be stressful with so many things to do and remember. Here are some items to add to your to-do list that you may not have thought of:

Start Packing Early

Start packing away items that you don’t need every day as early as possible. This means fewer things to pack last minute, resulting in less stress as moving day approaches.

Label All Your Boxes

Labelling each box with the room you want them in will help your removal company or the family and friends who are helping you. Add a brief description of the contents so you can find something if needed. It’s also important to note any boxes that are heavy or contain fragile items so they can be handled accordingly.

Declutter as You Pack

This not only means fewer things to sort when you move in, but also gives you a chance to start fresh in your new home. You can take unwanted items to a charity shop or sell them through online marketplaces such as Facebook or Vinted.

Change the Locks

You don’t know who the previous owner has given keys to, so for absolute peace of mind, change the locks straight after you complete.
