Fracture Cover is an optional extra that can be added to some protection policies such as; Income Protection, Life Cover and Critical Illness Cover. A select number of our providers offer this add-on benefit, so if required by our client, it would limit the providers we can recommend.
Suffering a bone fracture could lead to short term financial hardship, for instance, if you cannot drive for a certain period. You may need to spend money on taxi’s.
Fracture cover pays a small lump sum if you fracture a range of bones as listed in the policy terms and conditions.
Some providers cover fractures only, whereas others also cover dislocations, ligament tears and tendon ruptures. The amount paid out by the provider is dependent on the type of injury and the body part involved. Not all injuries are covered.
Each provider has their own cost for fracture cover, ranging from £4-£7 per month. Each provider also has their own set pay out amounts and maximum claims per year.
