We are delighted to have access to Met Life’s award winning Childshield policy.
Until now, a parent has had to take out cover for themselves to protect their children. Because it is not always possible for a parent to secure protection, Met Life launched Childshield which is a genuine stand-alone product to protect children.
Childshield can help you cope financially by providing a lump sum benefit if your child suffers a broken bone as a result of an accident, is hospitalised as an in-patient for 24 hours or more, or is diagnosed with a serious condition as defined in the terms & conditions.
Below are some of the key facts & features of the Met Life Childshield policy:
- Covers children from birth to the age of 22
- There is no limit to the number of children covered
- Benefits for Broken Bones
- Benefits for UK Hospital Stays
- Benefits for specified medical conditions such as cancer
Is Childshield Expensive?
At the date of this blog, the cost of cover is either £6 per month for the standard policy or £11 per month for Childshield Plus. Met Life can review the cost of cover under specific circumstances and/or every 5 years. Any change in premium is not based on the policy holder’s individual circumstances.
Important notes
- This policy type is a ‘pure protection’ product and has no cash-in value at any time.
- If you stop paying the required premiums, the cover will lapse.
- It covers the policy holder’s children and not the policy holder.
- The plan may have other limitations & exclusions.
- Taking professional advice is key.
- We will explain the key facts to you before proceeding.
